Debbie's Story

newbie here, I was diagnosed in December of 2009 when I ended up in the hospital for what everyone thought was appendicitis. I should have propbably realized that I had problems, with family Crohn's as well as low iron etc all my life. It seems, since I was dianosed, I always have diarrhea, I have been on prednizone a few times to control some pain etc. but have never been regular again. I am on Asacol now but it does not seem to be working all that well. I have no idea how to control it or what to do. I have tried different foods, different times eating and still no help I find myself running to the bathroom sometimes 10+ times a day. I purchased konjac root and started taking it 2 days ago, so far so good. I have been a little more solid but more than anything not in a rush to get to the bathroom.

That's it for now.

Hi Debbie

Welcome to the forum!

Are you seeing a GI specialist? Asacol is a fairly mild drug and if you're going to the bathroom that many times, you might want to discuss with your GI to look at other meds that might be more helpful.

In the meantime, I'm really glad the Konjac is working for you.

Cheers,

Kismet

I agree with Glum! There are a lot of treatment options out there to try. I hope you find what works for you soon. Welcome to the forum!
