New Here, Hi Everyone!

Hi Everyone, My name is Kim, I am a 35yo female and my Dr. recently told me he suspects I have Crohn's but I have not been diagnosed yet because I have no insurance to see a specialist and have a colonoscopy done. I also need surgery for 2 separate fistulas. I have had 7 surgeries in the past due to endometriosis and have severe surgical adhesions as a result and now possible Crohn's too. I am pretty depressed about all this and I think in a little shock too.

I am really scared about all this and it's all just been a bit much for me I have lots of questions so I am glad you are all here! Thanks for any info!

hi and welcome, and so sorry to hear of all your troubles. You'll find alot of info and advice here. I don't know your health system so i can't give any advice. I just hope you can get everything sorted out.

Hi Matty, thank you for your reply. I seem to have most all the symptoms listed for Crohn's but it's hard to know for sure since the adhesions can cause similar pain and even obstructions etc. and we know the adhesions are all over my intestines and bowel. Right now my main concern is with the fistulas as I just have no way to get the surgery he states I need asap. I's really scary, I don't know what can happen to me if I don't get the surgery.

Hi Kim and welcome! It is scary and overwhelming to be diagnosed with Crohn's disease. But you'll find this forum very informative and supportive.

Has your primary doctor recommended anyway to get assistance to see a specialist? I sure hope you can get to see a GI soon to investigate if you truly have Crohn's, because the right treatment is very important.

I am trying to get private insurance but it doesn't look like they will cover anything to do with the fistulas since they are pre existing. I will have group insurance through my husbands work in 3 months, I'm just scared to wait that long though I have no choice. I do not qualify for any public assistance and honestly it's horrible care even if I did. I don't know what to do...

I posted little more info in the general ibd section about the fistulas. Thanks again for any help
