• Welcome to Crohn's Forum, a support group for people with all forms of IBD. While this community is not a substitute for doctor's advice and we cannot treat or diagnose, we find being able to communicate with others who have IBD is invaluable as we navigate our struggles and celebrate our successes. First run yesterday...

On Nov 21 I had an open bowel resection and takedown of a fistula. Spent 5-6 days in the hospital in Seattle. Returned home to Honolulu 11 days later after a followup with my surgeon.

I have quickly worked back to full activities. Yesterday I decided to go on a short, but hilly 2 miler with pretty stiff winds. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the feeling of a briskly beating heart and lots of oxygen entering my lungs. I experienced no pain or other side effects and I'm raring to go again.

During my run I felt like the universe was saying to me, "Welcome back."

Awesome! I know exactly how that feels. I was so itchy to exercise after my surgery.

You should have said you were in Seattle. I would have visited you. Hope your surgery worked well for you.
