New to posting and in need of advice

Hello. I was diagnosed with Crohns in 2010 after several months of diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pains and losing over 40 pounds. I was on Pentasa but was hospitalized in February for 5 days with a severe blockage in my intestine. I have since been weened off prednisone and was supposed to start Humira. I am 29 and my husband and I would like to start trying to have a family. I have been leery about starting Humira because of the lack of knowledge on how it affects fertility/pregnancy. I have never been part of a forum but turned to this for help and guidance. :sign0085:

if you check out the CCFA website, they have updated information on the newest treatments and how it affects fertility. Also, try and attend a local CCFA support group meeting where you can meet others like yourself and swap information as to where the best hospital is to treat CD, the best GI, Gyn, etc. they sometimes have educational meetings where drug reps, doctors, surgeons, sex therapists, dieticians, etc. will come in to talk to patients. knowledge is power, the more you know, the easier it is to make decisions in treating CD. good luck.

I don't have any experience with pregnancy and Humira but I have had a bit a google around and found these links. I hope they are useful to you...
