Hi All, Almost six weeks ago, I woke up with a terrible metallic taste in my mouth, by the end of the day a sore throat had developed, so I visited my GP who prescribed penicillin for an infection, but after five days the sore throat had become much worse. The second visit to my GP resulted in a diagnosis of a Crohn's flare up in the back of my throat. Prednisolone was prescribed with Augmentin as an antibiotic cover. The Crohn's has settled down, but since the flare up began I have developed a persistent dry cough and a very salty taste in my mouth. After being on codeine for a couple of weeks (to control the cough) I have been sent for a chest x-ray and await the results. Has anyone else had this problem or know if it is definitely linked to the Crohn's?
Cheers,
