False negative tests.

After suffering from intestinal problems for years, my new older doctor prescribed me some old wide spectrum anti-biotics for a new lung infection.

Old, because I did not have a drug plan. The country doctor informed me that they were very effective.:ycool:

Not only did the anti-biotics help my lung infection, they also helped my intestinal problems.

I told this to the doctor who informed me that I probably had an intestinal infection...probably giardia.

I told him that I had seen a specialist and he had stated I had a disease, to which the old country doctor responded, 'oh those tests...you might have to run the tests 4-5 times to find anything.

What ?

Why did not the new specialist in the big office know this ?
