Update

I went to the gastroentologist today. He told me that I could continue with the Remicade and deal with the lesions or discontinue the Remicade and take the risk of eventually having to have surgery again. He left the decision up to me. I mentioned that I had read of someone increasing Imuran with good results. For now, he is discontinuing the Remicade and putting me on two tablets of Imuran instead of one. For the next six months, because there is a greater risk of infection, I have to have my blood checked. My wife is quite nervous about this.

Did he also mention the possibility that you may not be able to restart Remicade at a later date once you have discontinued it? The body develops antibodies to it and you may have a strong allergic reaction to it if you try to restart it. Just something to think about as you make your decision.

I am seeking out a second opinion. Also, my holistic doctor is going to see if there are supplements that my body can tolerate.
