New here...going through testing now

Hi everyone, I'm Kate. I've had stomach issues with pain and D for about 7 years. It really started after I had my gallbladder removed. I started to have urgent BM with D and at times my whole body can get hot and sweaty to the point I feel like passing out. Scares me every time!

I went to see a gastro specialist for this. He said he was due to having my gallbladder removed and I should take immodium for the D. Years went by snd this just became my normal...until I switched primary care doctor and they sent me to a different gastro specialist who has already done an endoscopy on me, which came back looking great. They did s CT scan which showed inflammation of large colon possibly colitis. I have a colinoscopy next week as they are looking for Crohn's also.

I'm so afraid of having either if these.

I'm here for support and to gather as much information as I can.

Kate

Welcome Irishkate, I am sorry to hear about your possible diagnosis. I know it is scary and overwhelming to find out you may have a chronic disease but on the flip-side at least you will begin treating your underlying problem. Diagnosis with crohn's or colitis is not a death sentence and with treatment you can live a relatively normal life. These diseases also go into spontaneous remission and you could have years of good life without worry.

The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America is an excellent place to start in terms of learning about the illness, and getting support by phone/email or via support groups in your area. http://www.ccfa.org
