Update and starting biologics...any tips?

So i have been dealing with a mild/moderate flare since September. I went on a 5 week course of pred and then about a week after I finished it, I started having symptoms again. I had a scope done in December which showed mild-moderate active inflammation/ulcerative colitis so the GI started me on 6mp around New Years to help me get back into remission as she did not want to keep putting me back on pred. Well, i started getting progressively more nauseous even with zofran, and yesterday peaked to the point of vomiting nonstop and having to go to the ER. I feared pancreatitis but blood work showed that was not the case so they gave me fluids and IV zofran until things improved and then sent me home. The ER doc talked to my GI while i was there and I had a follow up with her today in the office. She wants to start me on a biologic at this point as I did not tolerate the 6mp and Asacol is no longer working and she wants to keep pred as an emergency option for flares down the road. She gave me the option of Remicade, Humira, or Simponi and wants me to do some research and let her know which one I think would be best for me.

For those of you with experience with these biologics, what do you recommend? Have you experienced any side effects from them? Did you like one over the other? I'm trying to gather as much info as I can before I make a decision.

I am limited to only remicade in experience with biologics, but would recommend at least the attempt. It has literally been a life changer. After 20 years of nothing working, remicade pretty much put me into remission (azathioprine helped out a little). Some people do develop reactions to it, but it sounds like that can happen with any of the biologics. Having been through surgery more than a couple times for crohn's, I highly recommend trying out the biologics. Good luck with it!
