Pentasa oral meds 1g

Hi All,

New here!

My Gastro specialist has given me oral version of my mesalazine enema in pentasa (2 a day of 1g tablet). And I feel OK other than the effected area can ache sometimes and I am getting quite different feelings of constipation. Before with my enemas I would get diarrhoea. Will thsi calm down after a while? I'm imagining it's a transition period and my body will start to accept the pentasa better soon.

Any advice welcomed!

PS UK based in Sheffield, diagnosed with UC in 2005.

My Support Groups:
The body is very resilient and can adjust but if you find it doesn't you can talk to your GI about dietary changes or medications to augment the Pentasa to help you go.
