Introducing myself

Hi I'm 16 years old and was diagnosed with Crohn's disease this February. I was taking prednisolone for 8 weeks, slowly weening off it, this was supposed to put my Crohn's into remission but didn't work just eased the symptoms for a short while. Recently I've had a lot of rectal bleeding and abdominal pain and have found that some days I'm too tired/weak to get out of bed. I am trying to control my diet in the hope I can get it in to remission but so far nothing seems to be working. Any advice please?

Hi and welcome. Sorry you not feeling well. It can take time to find the combination of meds and diet that bring you remission. I'd suggest keeping a food journal to try and find the foods that give you problems. It's also important to be in touch with your specialist to let him/her know you're still experiencing issues.

Hope you start feeling better soon. Sending you my support and best wishes.

Hi DJW. I am seeing a specialist for the first time at the end of this month which will hopefully help! Thank you for the advice and support it really means a lot.
