Hello, my spouse has Crohn's

Hi! My name is Mark and I do not have Crohn's, but the love of my life, Renee, unfortunately does. I just found this website after searching for drug interactions between penicillin and azathioprine, but I won't elaborate on that here.

She was diagnosed about 3 years ago after several years of suffering in the dark and is about to start a treatment cycle of azathioprine in her last 2 weeks of a 3 month cycle of prednisone. We were both somewhat hesitant to take these drugs, but decided it was worth a shot. Failing this treatment her specialist has advised us that Humira and Remicade (hope I got the spelling correct) would be next. Normally, I am not a fan of pharmaceuticals on this level, but when it comes to someone you love, you'll sometimes go against your nature in search of help.

From the short time I've spent so far browsing this site, I'm certain I'll be back.

Thanks for being here!

Hey Mark, I'm Kat and I know exactly how you feel, anything for the woman you love. Remicade and Humira are both miracle drugs, many people regain their lives because of them, at the easy cost of getting an infusion every few weeks or giving yourself an injection once or twice a month. The side effects aren't a list of assurances, only possibilities, infact TNF-a inhibitors, the class of drug both are in, have a much lower cancer risk then initially thought. I'm sure you two will find a way to make her better.
