Hi my name is jessica I am 27 years of age and I gave been suffering & battling crohns disease sine I was 20 years old in 2011 I had major surgery where they took half of my colon out then gave me a poop bag which I had till they reversed it in 2012 I haven't been having to many flare up since but now im facing problems with fistulas both anal and vaginal [outter] 6 fistulas in total to the point that I can barely walk nor wear underwear or pants I have been to the er many times and all they did was cut them open I recently moved to another city so I had to reapply for my medicade which they have denied me 2 times I dont know what to do but cry because no one wants to help me and nobody around me understands what im going through or how much pain its causing me I feel depressed and alone

I'm sorry, you are going through this and can only hope you find a good supporting medical team and mental health counselor to work with. It's hard to do this alone, have you gone to a crohns support group by CCFA in your area?

That sounds awful. I'm so sorry that things are so bad right now. They will get better eventually. Since you just moved do you hAve a new GI? Are you taking any meds for the crohns? It sounds like you need to be in hands of an excellent GI specialist right now. I know you're having issues with your insurance, but I would just bite the bullet and pay for a few visits if you can. Also, many of the medicines can be subsidized by the drug companies for you. Good luck. Try to imagine yourself healing from this.

I have tryd to go see the gastro but they are refusing to see me and due to all of my fistulas and where they are located I can barely walk so im not able to work so the only help I can get is from the er and they arnt much help all they do is dope me up cut the fistulas open and send me home smh no im not on any medication and haven't been on since my surgery in 2011 after I had surgery they didn't want to put me on medication im not having flare ups like I use to but im having heck of time with this stupid fistulas and all I do is cry im 27 and can't walk cant even wear pants or undergarments im reaching out to doctors medicade ect and no one wants to help im so mentally and physically exhausted sometimes I feek like just giving up this is my first time reaching out to a support group

Maybe try to call another couple GI's? Or the next time you go to the ER, insist that you see the on call GI doctor? I know that many people have had success with fistulas healing by taking Humira. Humira does have a payment assistance program which makes it very affordable. Or maybe you can call the old doctor you went to before you moved? There has to be a way

Unfortunately am allergic to humira and remicade they tryd those on me when I was having bad inflammation and I swelled up so bad and hives everywhere I know that humira and remicade to alot a ppl patients with a disease like mine see im screwed I dont know what to do anymore
