Oral thrush painful?

I have had oral thrush many times but now my throat hurts so much but it's not red. There are white and yellow spots on my tonsils. Can thrush be causing the pain ?

I don't think it's strep because it's not red but im going to have to see doctor.

My thrush is painful but the med for it gives relief temporarily!

I would think possible strep - my throat doesn't always get red with it....let us know how you make out!

Thanks guys my throat is a bit better but definitely got some patches in there. Appt tomorrow. If it's not one thing it's another!

could it be ulcers?

I guess you have your answer by now ngng but I doubt it would be thrush if it is just localised to the tonsils. Much more likely to be something like tonsillitis or tonsil stones.

As to thrush being painful…it varies but some people do find it painful to the point of not being able to eat.

How did the appointment go?
