Hello all,
My name is Odette, I'm a 27 year old Dutch girl.It may sound weird but I am ''happy'' to know I've got Crohn's.
I got taken into hospital last week for ongoing bloody diarhoea, and after an endoscopy they diagnosed me with Crohn's.
I've had diarrhoea for about 10 years now, severe cramps and usually at least six wastery stools a day. The past year the complaints worsened, I started to fart blood, have incredibly loud farts and feel sicker and get more stools.
But my doctor had decided years ago that I just had IBS and kept sending me away until last tuesday. I had been bleeding 4 times an hour since friday evening and he finally decided to send me to the ER. The hospital checked me in and did a colonoscopy last week, and thursday I got the definite word on it.
Finally I'm being taken seriously and treated, and because of that i'm finally in less pain than I've been for a good long while.
My docto has come to the hospital to personally apologise for his flailure to take me seriously, that was nice.
The medicine seems to work as well, my stools are getting better than they've been in years. Gives me hope for the future.
All in all, finally.
