Has anyone tried the Wim Hof method?

First off, you're probably wondering who Wim Hof is.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wim_Hof

Wim Hof (born 20 April 1959) is a Dutch daredevil, commonly nicknamed "The Iceman" for his ability to withstand extreme cold, which he attributes to exposure to cold, meditation and breathing techniques (similar to the Tibetan technique Tummo).

Wim Hof has set out to spread the potential health benefits of his breathing techniques, working closely with scientists around the world to prove that his techniques work

A recent study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America claims that by consciously hyperventilating, Wim can increase his heart rate, adrenaline levels and blood alkalinity. Wim is also believed to possess much higher levels of brown adipose tissue which aids in cold resistance.

Ignore the clickbait title of this video, but it's a mash of some really good material and insight into his method and how anyone can do it.

I started his method about two months ago. I'm currently on remicade every 6 six weeks, I noticed around the 4-5 week mark I'd have symptoms. It was crushing as I assumed the medication was on the verge of not working after 11 months of therapy.

Anyway, I came across Wim Hof and decided to do his breathing exercises and cold exposure (cold showers/baths), the latter which takes some getting used to!!

Anyway, I noticed, with a few hours, my symptoms where starting to subside! I knew I was onto something good.

I was also very susceptible to colds and flus, and cold sores! but since starting his method I've felt great and I haven't been ill since. My mindset has completely changed. I feel super confident, I just look at the world in a different light. It's hard to explain.

Anyway, enough about me. Here is the scientific study to back up his claims. And remember, anyone can do it!

JUST BREATH!

Really interesting! I hate the cold but having had 30 decrees c heat here for the last 2 days I may reconsider! My stomach has been playing hell this evening.

It must be tough to do in the winter though for sure. With having muscle and joint pain I'm not sure you could pay me to get in a cold bath or shower in the winter!

Love the profile pic by the way :)
