I was diagnosed with Crohn's when I was 8 years old, but have had symptoms for as long as I can remember. I essentially grew up in the health care system.
Recently I've moved to a new area and I've had a SERIOUS problem with doctors. Rude, stuck in there ways, unwilling to listen to me (even though I have had this disease all my life. Unlike them, I have spent countless hours researching about this condition and poured over my medical records drawing lines between my particular case and other cases, as well as how they were treated. I have personally taken every drug available for Crohn's, yet they treat me like I'm a complete idiot. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi Karissa,
I know the feeling of not getting along with a doctor and it can be really distressful. It can become very anti-therapeutic to be around care givers who do not suit us. Never happened to me with a GI, but it happened with 2 other specialists in the recent years. From these two I ran away and found better people, thankfully. I am hoping you have a chance to find another doctor for a connection that suits your needs. I travel 1 hour and a half in public transport to meet my GI who moved hospital a few years ago. Traveling may be an option to consider if you live in a small town. Good luck!
