Biopsy colonoscopy

Hi I have been told by the gp today that they have had a letter saying that they have found a form of "colitis" in my Biopsys, does that mean it could be Crohn's or ulcerative colitis or just colitis, gastro appointment in two weeks but can't wait any longer this has gone on 8 years, any thoughts? "Colitis" simply means that the colon is inflamed. It could be UC. It could be Crohn's. It could be something else entirely - such as celiac disease. Figuring out what is causing the inflammation will be your gastro's first job when you see him/her.
