Had colonoscopy today

So they said I donít have colitis but theyíve taken 8 biopsies....is this standard procedure? Get results in Jan...

My Support Groups:
Inflammation may not be seen but still occurring on a microscopic level
Changes in cells can tell them if there is inflammation
If itís acute
Or chronic
Or both

Taking biopsies during a possible IBD-related colonoscopy is standard practice. I would question their competence if they did not take biopsies.
