• Welcome to Crohn's Forum, a support group for people with all forms of IBD. While this community is not a substitute for doctor's advice and we cannot treat or diagnose, we find being able to communicate with others who have IBD is invaluable as we navigate our struggles and celebrate our successes. We invite you to join us.

Study on Crohn's ages 3-17 recruiting in Hamilton, Ontario, using Fecal Transplant pills.

If you haven't yet learned about the role of the microbiome in relation to IBD, or Fecal microbiota transplants(FMT), they are very promising. Some people seemed to have been cured but that cant be promised to everyone yet until more research is done. This study uses a pill instead of FMT enemas, so it is likely a major step towards greater efficacy, all studies have shown FMT to be extremely safe.

FMT is currently FDA approved to treat C. difficile infection and now you can get an FMT anywhere in the USA if you have c diff!! Just waiting on more evidence for IBD. I hope you will follow my thread and keep up with the progress of Fecal Microbiota Transplants in the research section of crohnsforum.com.
