What do i do

Hi people, been over 3 months since my last post. 6 weeks ago i last saw my Gastro specialist, he said my calprotectin levels were increasing, i might need an mri to see where from then another colonoscopy. He also wants another calprotectin test. 6 weeks ago i felt great, been on a 3 week holiday overseas etc, but the last 10 days have been bad really bad. I eat then 20min latter diarrheah, cramps on lower left groin area. 6 days ago i did the calprotectin test, think it takes 2 weeks for results? Any way i have been taking imodium and its not working at all, normally bricks me up. Been taking metamucil and probiotics nothing is helping. Driving my wife crazy with me winging. My next specialist appointment is in 3 weeks time. I cant do this for 3 more weeks, even at work if i eat its toilet time. So now i dont eat at work, any tips? Dont want to go to the hospital, they are useless there. Cheers

Can you call the specialist and ask if there are any cancellations if they can fit you in? Explain to them what is going on. Also, you might try eating bland foods for the time being. I hope you feel better real soon.

When I first started getting sick 20 years ago I was right where you are now. Running to the bathroom after eating lunch at work. Constant bathroom breaks at work during the day. Metamucil, Immodium and Probiotics do not help me at all. At this time I cannot eat any fruits or vegetables or fatty / greasy foods ( plus a whole lot more. ) Are you losing weight ? Can you go to the Emergency Room ?

Cheers not loosing weight, took 2 imodiums last night (normally take one) so I have been ok since last night and up until lunchtime today. Funny thing if I eat and then go for a walk no issues, it's when I eat and sit. Also having 5 weeks of work for holidays and stressing out about going BACK to work may also hinder? We went to Asia so maybe a bug? Lots of maybes

Hi jazzman,

I would try to see a doctor as soon as possible. Something is going on when this type of thing happens. I know you don't want to go, but I think it is best. I would mention any recent trips as well. Good luck to you.

Take care,

Chris
