Hey Everyone!
First of all I'm so glad I found this website its nice to be in touch with people that are going through the same thing as I am. Well to start off I'm 20 years old have been diagnosed with Crohn's disease officially a few days ago. It took 3 month's of extreme pain, restless nights, multiple scopes, pain killer addictions, and a recent 17 day hospital trip from it getting so inflamed that it fissured through the wall of my intestine and started abscessing. In the hospital they started my dosage of Prednisone and a lot of antibiotics. I lost 25 pounds within 3 weeks when it was bad but now I'm finalllllllly going back up very slowly. I'm going to see my GI specialist to start my more permanent treatment using Imuran and to slowly taper off the Prednisone. Well that's all I can think of for right now :) . I will definitely be a troll here on these forums cause its so great from what I've read so far.

:welcome: Thomas. It's a great forum and I'm sure you'll find some helpful people and suggestions. Taking only 3 months to diagnosis is not bad at all really. A lot of people on here took years to get their answers, or haven't received them yet. Sorry to hear you have this disease, but good to hear you're on the up and up.

Hi Thomas... woot another Canadian!!! There have been alot of Canadians lately... kinda confirms how Canada is one of the highest incidence of Crohn's. Because you are young, I would really keep in mind that diet does help, you eat junk you pay the price sometimes. I taper tomorrow for my Pred to 25mg... glad you joined us. You will learn a lot from here!
